35 Bookies Arrested In Pune For Alleged Involvement In India-England Betting

As Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow smashed their way to a dominant win over India in Pune to level the series 1-1, Pimpri Chinchwad Police sources have revealed that 35 Bookies were arrested for alleged involvement in betting activities.

According to a report on My Khel, those bookies passed the information about the result of each delivery to their counterparts at their control center as the match progressed at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Later City Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash confirmed that the accused were working as agents for bookies throughout the country and they have been duly put behind the bars.

Last week, Delhi police busted a gang for their involvement in betting but the rampant activities during the last season of the Indian Premier League became a cause of concern. During the IPL, former Mumbai and Odisha cricketer, Robin Morris was arrested by Versova Police for his involvement.
