An Indian individual by the name of Harun Shaikh was awarded the grand prize of 1 million Dirham, amounting to over Rs. 2 crores, in the Big Ticket Abu Dhabi Draw that was held on Friday, the 9th of December. He was the first of four to be presented the prize money and still stands a chance to take home a further 25 million Dirham in the upcoming mega draw, as reported by The Siasat Daily.
Based in Dubai, Mr. Shaikh was made aware of his victory by the show’s host Richard via a phone call, who later visited him to award him the cheque in person. Mr. Shaikh had drawn five of the six winning numbers, making him eligible for the mammoth prize money. This was part of the weekly monthly raffle carried out by Big Ticket in December to celebrate the festive season.
“Through December we will establish a millionaire each week. Basically, ticket buyers of each week will go into a draw and a Dh1 million winner will be announced,” the show presenter Richard had said.
“I have never won anything in my life before today. Thank you Big Ticket for choosing my ticket and changing my life,” Gulf News quoted Harun.
Mr. Shaikh is still in the draw for Big Ticket’s biggest offering so far of 25 million Dirham, which translates to over Rs. 51.5 crores. The winner will be announced on the 3rd of January, 2022, along with five other cash prizes including a second place prize of 2 million Dirham (Rs. 4.12 crore).
