# CricketPrediction.com — full guide

> CricketPrediction.com publishes free cricket predictions. For the matches we cover we publish our model's pick and each team's win probability, most of them inside a full match preview, and for T20 matches we can place at a ground, a call on whether the toss winner will bat or field first. Once a match is settled, its pick is graded right or wrong in a public record. This file explains how the site works, how the record is counted, each public data file with its fields and reuse terms, and the site's pages. It holds no live numbers: today's picks and the current record are in https://cricketprediction.com/llms.txt and on https://cricketprediction.com/record.

This file is static and was last revised on 26 September 2026. Where it and a live page disagree, the live page is current.

## About the site

- CricketPrediction.com has published free cricket predictions since December 2025. It covers international cricket and the T20 leagues in season; https://cricketprediction.com/llms.txt lists what we covered in the last 60 days.
- The site is in English and is written mainly for readers in India: several pages give match times in Indian Standard Time, one page gives the day's picks in Hinglish (https://cricketprediction.com/aaj-ka-match-kaun-jitega), and the bookmaker reviews are written for Indian players.
- Reading is free: there is no subscription and no paywall. The site earns affiliate commissions when a reader signs up with a bookmaker through its links (https://cricketprediction.com/affiliate-disclosure).
- It is an analysis site, not a bookmaker: it takes no bets and never handles readers' money. It is for adults (18+).

## How the predictions are made

- Our model starts from the betting market's view of each match and adjusts it with team ratings, recent form (the latest matches count most), the venue's record and head-to-head results. Where we have little data on the teams, the market's view carries more of the weight.
- For each match the output is a win probability for each team and a predicted winner: our pick.
- A match preview sets out why we made the pick and covers team news, the pitch and the weather in plain words.
- Picks made since 15 July 2026 carry a label taken from the pick's probability: Strong pick (65% or more), Lean (55–64%) or Coin-flip (50–54%). A pick below 50% carries no label.
- A probability is not a certainty: a 60% pick is expected to lose about four times in ten.

## How the match record is counted

- Where it is: https://cricketprediction.com/record (with breakdowns by competition, by month and by the probability we published), https://cricketprediction.com/record.csv (one row per graded pick), and the `record` object in https://cricketprediction.com/tips/feed.json. All three read the same rows, and each is withheld rather than shown in part when its two counts do not agree.
- What it counts: every prediction published on the site for a match played since the site's launch date, 4 December 2025, once that match is settled. A pick is correct when our predicted winner won. Wrong picks stay in.
- Abandoned, rained-out and no-result matches are void: they are counted separately and left out of the percentage.
- The record also counts published predictions that have no full-length preview in the archive at https://cricketprediction.com/tips, so the archive and the record list different numbers of matches.
- The current figure is not written here because it changes as matches are settled. Read it in /llms.txt, on /record or in the feed's `record`.

## Toss predictions

- A toss call says what we expect the toss winner to choose: bat first or field (bowl) first.
- Calls come from two sources, and both are graded the same way, against what the toss winner actually chose:
  - our ground model, for men's and women's T20 matches we can place at a ground. Each call has a probability, and its `basis` field names what it rests on: this ground's toss history; both sides' toss habits and the start time; all of these together; or, where there is no such data, the men's or women's T20 average;
  - the toss line in a match preview, which gives a direction without a probability.
- Each call is shown on its match's toss page (/toss-prediction/{slug}), with its probability where it has one, the ground's recent tosses and the forecast at the start where we have them, and, after the toss, the graded result. The toss feed gives each ground-model call's reasons in plain English (`why`).
- There are two toss records: the ground model's own (calls since 5 September 2026) and every graded call from both sources, which is what the public ledger at https://cricketprediction.com/toss-prediction/record shows.

## Machine-readable files (for AI agents and developers)

All of these answer a plain GET with no key and no sign-up. Times are UTC in ISO 8601 unless a field says otherwise. Probabilities and shares in the feeds and CSV files run from 0 to 1; fields whose name ends in `pct` are percentages from 0 to 100.

  - `upcoming`: every open prediction that has a full match preview, for matches from two days ago onward, soonest first, at most 60. `status` is "upcoming" before the scheduled start and "awaiting_result" after it, until the match is settled. Fields: slug, status, url, toss_url, team_a, team_b, team_a_short, team_b_short, competition, match_label ("3rd ODI", "Match 16", "Quarter-final 1"; null when none), format, gender, venue, start_utc, pick, pick_probability, team_a_win_probability, team_b_win_probability, confidence_label, updated_at.
  - `recent_results`: the last 50 graded picks, newest first. Fields: slug, url, team_a, team_b, competition, start_utc, pick, pick_probability, result ("correct" or "incorrect"), match_result, settled_at.
  - `record`: correct, total, pct, no_result_matches, the definition in words (`covers`), the record page, and `by_probability` (the record by the probability we published: 65% or higher, 55–64%, 50–54%, below 50%). `record` is null, with a `record_note` and an empty `recent_results`, when its two counts do not agree.
  - Cache-Control: public, s-maxage=600, stale-while-revalidate=3600. Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *. If the predictions cannot be read it answers 503 with {"error": "..."} and Cache-Control: no-store, never an empty list.
  - Its `license` field: "CC BY 4.0 — free to use with a link to the page URL (see /terms-conditions section 5)".
- [Every graded match pick](https://cricketprediction.com/record.csv): CSV, one row per pick in the record, newest match first. Columns: start_utc, slug, url, team_a, team_b, competition, pick, pick_probability, result, match_result, settled_at. Every value is in double quotes; pick_probability is empty when it could not be read. If the rows do not add up to the record's count it answers 503 (plain text) instead of a short file. Same cache and CORS headers as the feed.

  - `upcoming`: every ground-model call not yet graded whose match starts between three hours ago and seven days ahead, in start order. `status` is "upcoming" before the scheduled start and "awaiting_toss" after it.
  - `recent_graded`: the last 50 graded ground-model calls, most recently graded first, each with a `result` (toss_winner, toss_winner_chose, call_correct, graded_at).
  - `record.ground_model` and `record.all_lanes`: the two toss records above, each with graded, correct, pct and covers.
  - Fields per call: slug, status, url, match_preview_url, team_a, team_b, team_a_short, team_b_short, competition, match_desc, format, gender, start_utc, local_start (the venue's local clock time), day_night, venue, venue_city, venue_country, call ("bat" or "field"), p_field (probability that the toss winner fields first), p_call (probability of the call itself), basis, tosses_at_ground, field_share_at_ground, sample_window, chase_split, forecast_at_start, why (the reasons as sentences), published_at, result.

- [robots.txt](https://cricketprediction.com/robots.txt): all crawlers are allowed, and AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended are named and allowed, except under /go/, /api/ and /admin/. Paths under /go/ are outbound links and paths under /api/ are internal; neither is documented here.

## Reuse terms

- Section 5 of the terms (https://cricketprediction.com/terms-conditions) says: "The files we publish for AI assistants and developers (/llms.txt, /tips/feed.json, /record.csv, /toss-prediction/feed.json and /toss-prediction/record.csv) may be read and reused, including by automated tools, as long as you link to the page on CricketPrediction.com that the data comes from."
- That exception names those five files. For everything else on the site the rest of section 5 applies: the site's text, graphics, logos and data belong to CricketPrediction.com, bots and scrapers may not extract its data for commercial use, and its content should not be republished on another site without asking first.
- The two JSON feeds also state a licence in their `license` field, quoted in the list above.

## How to cite

- A match pick: the pick and its probability, with the preview URL (https://cricketprediction.com/tips/[slug]) and the date, for example "CricketPrediction.com gives [team] a [X]% chance to win".
- A toss call: the call and its probability, with the toss page URL.
- The record: the current figure from /record or from the feed's `record`, with the date you read it.
- Link to the page the data comes from, as section 5 of the terms asks.
