Australian cricketer Alex Carey has revealed that he wants to improve his game and master the art of batting till the end of an inning and finishing matches for his side like former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.
"I was lucky enough to play against him (Dhoni) last year, just the way he took the game deep and won the games for India. I aspire to do that one-day," said Alex Carey as reported by The Times of India.
Carey, currently in Mumbai for the first of the 3-match One-Day International matches, admitted that there are many areas in which he needs to improve, especially batting in the middle order till the end of the innings.
"I still have lots of areas in my game I want to improve on and get better at. I know I will probably bat middle to lower order so it's trying to finish games off for Australia. When you look at the best in the world like MS Dhoni, you want to learn as much as you can from him,” added Carey.
The 28-year old opined that the upcoming ODI series against India is going to be a tough one, pointing out the top class bowling attack with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami.
"Coming back to India, you know it is going to be a tough contest through the middle. We will probably have lots of spin through the middle and then at the end with world-class bowler like (Jasprit) Bumrah and (Mohammed) Shami,” said the Australian.
