The Swargate Police team in Pune busted a betting racket and arrested six individuals involved in a betting racket after receiving a tip-off on the ongoing India-West Indies T-20 International Cricket series. This is one of the many incidents where Swargate Police made such discoveries.

The investigating squad seized cash, laptop, and other equipment, collectively worth Rs 7.21 lakh. In addition to that, a cell phone Sim card registered in the name of some unknown individual from the room was recovered as well.
During the interrogation process, the suspects confessed that they were involved in cricket betting rackets. While commenting on the arrests made, assistant inspector Amol Rasal of the Swargate police said, “The suspects were using that SIM card to accept bets on the match," as reported by the Times of India. Meanwhile, a case has been registered under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code and other sections of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act and the Indian Telegraph Act.
