India's online rummy industry's self-regulatory body, The Rummy Federation (TRF), has changed its name to The Online Rummy Federation (TORF) as part of its new brand identity.
The rebranding is part of the organisation's vision to build a comprehensive self-regulatory ecosystem for online rummy, which continues to grow in the country.
TORF will continue to stand for ensuring responsible gameplay, a fair playing environment, and best practices for creating safe and secure platforms for both players and operators.
The federation has also announced a revamp to its Dynamic Seal logo, awarded to select online rummy operators who have been certified as complying with their stringent code of conduct
Sameer Barde, CEO of The Online Rummy Federation, said: "As games of skill continue to shift to online versions, we recognise the need to make the online rummy industry more credible and transparent. Our new corporate identity and brand logo embody the spirit of the federation and represent the continued commitment towards comprehensive self-regulation and to ensure a responsible, secure, and fair gaming experience for the players. Even though our name is changing, our purpose to provide wholesome entertainment and ethical gaming to players remains the same."
TORF’s official website has also been revamped as per the new corporate name and logo.
This news comes just a day after online rummy received more criticism, with PMK party founder Dr S. Ramadoss demanding a ban on the pastime.
