Bookmakers and many cricket fans expected that Mumbai Indians to be hard to beat in IPL 2020, and the reigning champions have demonstrated the best form, beating their last three opponents on their way to the top of the table after an opening day loss.
After their performances, they have strengthened their position as the bookmaker favourites at a best-price of 3.6. Let’s have a look at the top players from week three of the competition and try and find some bets for the next round of action.
In the Kings XI Punjab vs Mumbai Indians game, Kieron Pollard showed world-class play. He scored 47 runs, hit the most sixes, and finished with an impressive strike-rate of 235, all which helped him take home the man-of-the-match award.
The first player to play 150 matches for Mumbai Indians, Pollard will next face title challengers Delhi Capitals in one of the most anticipated match-ups of the season.
It's been a decent start for Pollard this term. After only 18 in his opener, he's been 13 and 25 not out in two other wins and hit 60 and 47 runs in his other two matches.
Pollard is coming to the boil nicely - punters are advised to bet on his over runs line at anything around 25.
Yadav might be some way off the top batsman so far, with 180 runs and an average of 30, but he has been brilliant at finding the boundary. His total of 27 fours puts him fourth in the current list, and his strike-rate of 152.34 is very respectable.
In the last game against Rajasthan Royals, Yadav hit 79 runs with a massive 11 fours. This is a man full of confidence, and we are expecting him to continue his excellent run on Sunday against the Delhi Capitals.
Smart bettors should be waiting in anticipation for the money line to open on how many fours Yadav can score. We are predicting him to hit at least four, but if the DC bowlers give him any slack, he could get double figures once again.
After the Delhi Capitals versus Kolkata Knight Riders match, Shreyas Iyer was recognized as the MoM. With 88 runs including six sixes, he was instrumental in helping the DCs win.
Delhi's next match is up against the Rajasthan Royals. Their opponents haven't displayed good form overall, although they have won their last two.
You should expect a repeat of Iyer's big performance here. Bettors have a value bet here in the shape of Iyer to be top batsman at as big as 8.5.
Iyer is the only DC batsman in the top 10 rankings so far this season, with a very respectable strike-rate of 143.65.
RR batsman Jose Buttler leads the betting for this market at 5.00, and that's understandable enough, considering he has 117 runs from only four matches so far. But this is a step up against a talented Delhi side, and we don't think there should be as big a gap between Buttler and Iyer in the betting.
Chahal is a favourite of ours on CricketPrediction.com. If you have been following our IPL tips, you will already have made money on this bowler.
He already has two hat-tricks in his total of eight wickets and returning to the Dubai International Stadium - venue of his first man of the match award against Sunrisers Hyderabad - means he rates an attractive bet to take down more wickets.
You can back him at a fair looking 3.6 to be top wicket-taker for his side once again.
Bettors should also consider taking advantage of any specific player markets they can find on Chahal. We would recommend backing the bowler to take over 1.5 wickets when the market is available.
