The government of India are facing a nation-wide protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) currently and on the wake of these protests, former skipper of Pakistan, Javed Miandad asks International Cricket Council to sever all ties with India and hand them a similar punishment like his country faced after terrorists open fired at the Sri Lankan team bus 10 years ago.
Miandad did not stop there; he also went on to launch a scathing attack on India and requested International Cricket Council to stop other nations from touring India.
“People should take note of what is going on in India. I urge the ICC to boycott them. Not Pakistan but India is not a safe country for any tourist or anybody (sic). As human beings, we sportspersons should also stand up and condemn them,” Miandad said in a video uploaded on PakPassion.com as reported by Hindustan Times.
“The entire world is watching and talking about what is going on there. I am speaking on behalf of Pakistan that all sporting ties must be suspended with India. All countries should take action against them.”
Pakistan recently hosted a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka after 10 years on their soil. Post the series, Pakistan Cricket Board chief Eshan Mani took a dig at India stating Pakistan is safer than India right now.
“India is a far greater security risk than Pakistan. We have proved that Pakistan is safe, if someone isn’t coming then they should prove that it’s unsafe. At this time, India is a far greater security risk than Pakistan,” Mani said after hosting a successful Sri Lanka series.
