Jasprit Bumrah the most talented bowler in the world

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has showered praise on talisman pacer Jasprit Bumah, hailing him as the ‘most skillful bowler in the world in any format of the game’.

After a stress fracture on his lower-back, all eyes were on Jasprit Bumrah in the recently concluded T20I series against Sri Lanka, as the pacer made his comeback to the national side after a four-month hiatus. Whilst he was rusty in the second T20I, conceding 32 off his four overs, the stalwart looked like he was well and truly back to his best in the third match in Pune, finishing with figures of 2-1-5-1.

The 26-year-old is expected to be India’s key weapon heading into the three-match ODI series against Australia, and skipper Virat Kohli heaped praise on India’s spearhead, hailing him as the ‘most skillful bowler in the world’.

"According to me he's (Bumrah) the most skillful bowler in the world in any format of the game. To play against him, he brings match intensity in the nets. He's not shy of hitting us on the head or targeting our ribs every now and then," Kohli said in the pre-match press conference, reported Times of India.

Kohli also gave a sneak-peek of his battles with Bumrah in the nets, and revealed that he challenges himself to play well against the speedster, who he said brings in game-level intensity to net sessions. The Indian skipper further revealed that he was dismissed by the returning pacer in the nets ahead of the first ODI in Wankhede - just the second such instance in his career.
