Sussex vs Lancashire | Find Out How the Batsmen will Fill Your Pockets
Sussex will lock horns with Lancashire in the fourth quarter final of the Vitality T20 Blast 2020 at The County Ground, in Hove, on October 1, Thursday.
We are approaching the business end of the tournament and after a break of good 10 days the knockout stage of the Vitality T20 Blast is back. We already have had a good amount of action in the Indian Premier League, now the Vitality T20 Blast 2020 edition requires a little bit of your attention too as it offers a genuine opportunity to make money towards the end of this ongoing week. Sussex and Lancashire were the second best sides in their respective groups after the league stage and all of a sudden they are now finding themselves in the final eight of the tournament. Technically, both teams are just three matches away from lifting that Vitality T20 Blast trophy so neither of them are going to leave any stones unturned on 1st October. In the meantime, I have assorted three of the best markets from this match for you to bet on, so without any further delay, let me take you through them one by one:
Luke Wright to be the top team batsman for Sussex
I heard someone tell me during my playing days many years ago that one should never write off an experienced man and it does not matter how old the person is as long as that man still has fire in his belly! Luke Wright is proving to be that man with a bagful of experience for Sussex as he is the third highest run scorer in this season of the Vitality T20 Blast with 375 runs at an average of 37.50. The English all-rounder has played a whopping 316 T20 matches in his career and has scored 5502 runs at an average of 29.02 including 7 hundreds and 42 half centuries. Wright has 159 games while donning the shirt of Sussex Sharks and has scored 4481 runs at an average of 32.95. He was the second highest run getter for Sussex Sharks in the 2018 season of the Vitality T20 Blast with 452 runs under his belt at an average of 37.66. He was yet again the second highest run scorer in the season after that with 388 runs at an average of 35.27. Bet 365 is offering odds of 3.40 for Luke Wright to be the top team batsman for Sussex Sharks against Lancashire Lightning and I am backing this man with the experienced hat!
Alex Davies to score at least 22 runs
The 26-year-old batsman from Lancashire has stepped up big time with the bat in this ongoing edition of the Vitality T20 Blast. Lancashire Lightning, as they popularly known as, will be wanting him to step up to the plate against Sussex Sharks on October 1. Alex Davies is the highest run scorer for Lancashire in the ongoing season of the Vitality T20 Blast with 268 runs in 8 innings at an average of 33.50. He was the leading run getter for Lancashire Lightning in the previous season of the Vitality T20 Blast as well with 307 runs at an average of 38.37. In the season prior to that, Davies was the fourth highest run getter of the tournament and of course the highest for his side with 534 runs at an average of 53.40. He has played 62 matches and has 1408 runs to his name at an average of 29.33 in his T20 career. Therefore 22 runs should be a piece of cake for this classy left-hander and quite brilliant for us as well. Bet 365 is offering odds of 1.83 for Davies to score just 22 runs against Sussex Sharks and that should be the order of the day.
Phil Salt to hit at least one six in the match
The grounds in England are relatively bigger than other countries but when it comes to hitting sixes, the batsmen do not care about the shape and sizes - they just go with the shot! Now that I have found an opportunity to make money out of just one six, I am not going to let this chance slide through our hands. Phil Salt has managed to be the second highest six hitter for Sussex Sharks with 9 sixes against his name in 7 games and that is an average of more than 1 hit per match. Salt has managed to hit 63 sixes in 70 T20 games in his career but do not get disheartened with that piece of stat as there is more than it meets the eye. He played one game in the Pakistan Super League earlier this year and cleared the rope once in that game. Prior to that, in the last season of the Big Bash League, Salt managed 12 sixes in 12 games, maintaining that average of one hit per game. Therefore, one six should be quite easy for Phil Salt during the first quarter final and we should cash in on this opportunity and head to the Bet 365 website, which is offering odds of 1.66!
My Picks:
Luke Wright to be the top batsman for Sussex - @ 3.40 (Bet 365)
Alex Davies to score at least 22 runs for Lancashire - @ 1.83 (Bet 365)
Phil Salt to hit over 0.5 sixes - @ 1.66 (Bet 365)
