Yorkshire will go head on with Leicestershire in match number 30 of the Vitality T20 Blast 2020 at Headingley, in Leeds, on September 2, Wednesday.
We have a really interesting game on our hands as two middle-placed teams of the North Group will collide tomorrow at Headingley in Leeds - Yorkshire Carnegie and Leicestershire Foxes!
Yorkshire are currently placed fourth on the Vitality T20 Blast points table and the Foxes are just above them, courtesy of a couple of abandoned games and one win. These two teams have quite a history when it comes to head-to-head encounters and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top at the end of the day at Headingley tomorrow.
While Yorkshire and Leicestershire gear up for their clash, I want you to take a look at the top bets that I have assorted for you to bet on. Today, we are only going to deal with three batsmen who are going to make us win a lot of money in the middle of the week. Shall we get started?
Just a while ago, we were contemplating Joe Root's form with the bat in the longest format of the game. But just as we were engaging ourselves in this conversation, Root jumped out of nowhere and pumped in two half centuries in two matches averaging 64.50 for Yorkshire Carnegie.
We are not talking about any other batsman here, we are talking about JOE ROOT, who has played 72 T20 games and has scored 1619 runs at an average of 30.55 including nine half centuries. He has featured in 33 matches for Yorkshire Carnegie and has racked up 633 runs at an average of 28.77. He has played 11 matches here at Headingley in Leeds and has 235 runs at an even better average of 39.17.
The start that he has made to this season of the Vitality T20 Blast is quite sensational and he intends to carry on with that momentum into the next couple of matches for Yorkshire as well before he heads off for his international duties against Australia.
10Cric are offering odds of 3.75 for Root to be the top team batsman for Yorkshire Carnegie on Wednesday and it looks like we are in for a ride!
Yet another veteran Adam Lyth, who has been almost as good as Root in the first couple of games for Yorkshire Carnegie, is our next target man. For us to win this bet, we would need him to score just 24 runs and that would be all for us to take home 1.87 times our investment as LeoVegas have the best odds for this particular market.
Lyth has notched up two brilliant half centuries so far and is currently averaging 57.00 after the first couple of matches. Lyth was the second highest run getter for Yorkshire in the previous season of the Vitality T20 Blast with 379 runs in 10 matches averaging 37.90 including three half centuries.
In the 2018 season, the Yorkshire opener was the highest run scorer for his side with 411 runs at an average of 30.84. He has played 48 matches at Headingley in Leeds and has notched up 1316 runs at an average of 29.91.
Last but not the least, Lyth's average with the bat has not gone below 30 in the last three years and now, he has gotten off to a brilliant start!
You might think that I must be stupid pulling in the name of the Leicestershire skipper Colin Ackermann for this market after his golden duck in the first full game of the season.
But unfortunately, much to your disappointment, I have every reason to back Ackermann up for this upcoming fixture. Ackermann is a T20 specialist and has played more than 100 T20 matches scoring 2463 runs at an average of 28.64 including 13 half tons.
Ackermann was the highest run scorer for Leicestershire Foxes for two consecutive seasons (2018 and 2019). In 2019, he had notched up 342 runs at an average of 28.50 and in 2019, he had accumulated 343 runs at an average of 31.18.
While playing for the Leicestershire Foxes, Ackermann averages 28.91 and has scored 954 runs. While playing Yorkshire Carnegie, the South African batsman averages 43.50. The numbers are all adding up to the fact that he is likely to score those 22 runs for us and that is all we need.
LeoVegas have offered the best odds of 1.87 for Colin Ackermann to score at least 22 runs, so, go bet!
Joe Root to be the top team batsman for Yorkshire - @ 3.75 (10Cric)
Adam Lyth to score more than 23.5 runs - @ 1.87 (LeoVegas)
Colin Ackermann to score more than 21.5 runs - @ 1.87 (LeoVegas)
