MPL to be Shirt Sponsor of Ireland Cricket Team for ODI Series Versus England

Mobile Premier League to sponsor Ireland men's cricket team shirt

Mobile Premier League (MPL) and Cricket Ireland have announced that MPL has agreed to sponsor the Ireland men's cricket team's shirts for the upcoming ODI series against England.

MPL has reached a deal with Cricket Ireland and ITW Consulting which will see the mobile gaming and esports platform's logo appear on the shirt alongside co-sponsor Skoda, the car manufacturer.

The three-day ODI series starts on July 30 and concludes on August 4.

Sai Srinivas, co-founder and chief executive officer of MPL, said: "As One-Day International cricket finally returns, we are glad to be a part of its comeback by associating with the Ireland Men's cricket team when they take on England. MPL stands for unearthing and showcasing talent, which the Ireland team has an abundance of. We look forward to the upcoming three-match series excitedly."

Dennis Cousins, commercial director of Cricket Ireland, said: "This deal is a testament to the growing strength and profile of the Cricket Ireland brand globally, and has already attracted two brand associations in MPL and SKODA that will add weight to our reputation in the sports market.

MPL is also co-presenting sponsor for the broadcast of the England vs West Indies Test series running now.

The gaming giant has boomed under the lockdown, with their brand-search increasing 10 times between March and June, and new-user acquisition-per-day up three times during the same period.

The firm recently released its 'Har Game Mein Jeeto' campaign starring Virat Kohli, which seeks to reinforce MPL's brand messaging as a one-stop-shop gaming platform for users.
