WPL 2027 Predictions: Dates, Teams and Auction

WPL 2027 starts on 14 January 2027 and ends on 7 February, with five teams. This page will list our WPL match predictions, with win probabilities and toss calls, as we publish them. Until the season starts, it has the key dates, the teams and last season’s results.
The BCCI announced the dates on 16 September 2026. Retentions are due by 28 September, and the player auction is on 28 October in Kochi. The venues and the fixture list have not been announced yet.

The WPL 2027 schedule so far is four dates. The BCCI set them in a media advisory on 16 September 2026.

The venues, the match-by-match fixture list and the number of matches are still to come. So is the format. In 2026 the league had 22 matches: each team played the other four twice, then the top team went straight to the final and the second and third teams met in the Eliminator.

WPL 2027 Retentions and Auction
Squads for next season are built in two steps. First, each team must submit its retentions, the players it keeps from its current squad, by 28 September 2026. The retention lists had not been published when we updated this page.
Then the teams fill their squads at the WPL 2027 auction on 28 October 2026, at the Grand Hyatt Kochi. The BCCI’s advisory gives the date and the venue but not the purse or the retention limits.

Mumbai Indians have named Luke Williams as head coach for the 2027 season. He replaces Lisa Keightley, and he coached Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their first title in 2024.

WPL 2026 Recap: RCB Won the Title
Royal Challengers Bengaluru won WPL 2026, their second title, which drew them level with Mumbai Indians. They beat Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the final in Vadodara on 5 February 2026.
Delhi made 203 for 4. RCB chased 204 with two balls to spare, the highest successful chase in WPL history. Smriti Mandhana made 87 off 41 balls and Georgia Voll 79 off 54, in a second-wicket stand of 165.
RCB had also topped the league table with six wins from eight games. Delhi finished third and beat second-placed Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator. It was their fourth final in four seasons, and their fourth defeat. Mumbai Indians were fourth and UP Warriorz fifth.
Mandhana won the Orange Cap with 377 runs. Sophie Devine took the Purple Cap with 17 wickets and was named the Most Valuable Player. The final standings, the scorecard and how our pre-season pick fared are on our WPL 2026 results page.
WPL Winners by Season
Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won two titles each. Delhi Capitals have lost every final.

A card shows our model’s win probability for both teams and our toss call. Where we have the ground’s record, it also shows how often teams batting first and chasing have won there. WPL Toss Prediction
When we make a toss call for a WPL match, the card shows whether the side that wins the toss should bat or bowl first. It links to our full WPL toss prediction for that game. Every graded call is on our toss record, and today’s calls for all the leagues we cover are on our toss prediction page.
WPL Betting Odds and Value
A card flags value when a bookmaker’s price is longer than our fair odds. Fair odds are 100 divided by our win probability. If we give a team a 50% chance, the fair odds are 2.00, and a price of 2.20 is a 10% edge.
An edge does not mean a team will win. It means the price is higher than our model thinks it should be. A team we give a 50% chance still loses half the time by that same estimate.

WPL 2027 starts on 14 January 2027 and runs to 7 February 2027. It is the fifth Women's Premier League season. The BCCI announced these dates on 16 September 2026, but it has not yet named the venues or published the fixture list.
